Café Rouge is a French restaurant popular all over London and lucky for you one of them is parked
right in St. Albans! Open Monday – Friday from 10am and Saturday and Sunday from 9am, the restaurant has the perfect breakfast menu to cure your uni scrambled brains. Everything on the menu is under £8 so just in case you spent (a bit) more than intended last night, you can still afford to eat. There are pastries, pancakes, fruit, sandwiches, and your more ‘traditional’ bulky breakfasts. Lunch at Raj Garden

Raj Garden is a quaint Tandoori Indian restaurant in Welwyn Garden City. With 4.6/5 stars on their Facebook page it seems the best bargain for all curry loving students. It is open for lunch from 12 noon-2.30pm every day and on Monday- Friday offers 10 set menus at under £8. This includes a starter, a main, a side dish, and a coffee! They are also open for dinner Sunday – Thursday 6pm-11.30pm and Friday and Saturday 6pm – midnight. At Bill’s for Dinner

Bill’s restaurants are open all over England and it looks like the perfect place to go for dinner. Bill’s has two restaurants nearby, one in St Albans and one in Welwyn Garden City. Open Monday – Wednesday 8.30am-10.30pm, Thursday – Saturday 8am- 11pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays 9am-10.30pm. All day hours means all day food - and all day takeaway. Bill’s lunch and dinner menu has loads available and you can get a starter, main and dessert for under £20 and currently, if you use the UNiDAYS app, there's a 20% discount code available. With free Wi-Fi and six menus there’s little that could go wrong. If your parents are coming to visit, or you fancy poshing it up a bit – Bill’s is where it’s at.

Potty Pancakes for Dessert

Potty Pancakes (& Burger Bar) is a family business in Potters Bar. The menu embodies indulgence with a list of sweet and savoury pancakes, waffles and crepes. -Ice cream sundaes and milkshakes too. Sunday - Thursday it is open until 11pm and on Friday and Saturday it stays open until 11.30pm. This diner themed gem in Potters Bar is heaven if you have a sweet tooth and there’s loads on offer even if you’re vegetarian. Alcohol is available and you can always ask them to put a tipple in your milkshake if you deserve a double treat after a double deadline. The high protein section of the menu means even the healthiest students can enjoy a plate at Potty’s. All the sweet pancakes, ice cream sundaes and milkshakes are under £10, so you’re sorted for a late night snack on a budget.
