Changes to your student administration services

There are some changes happening across the university and this might change the way you usually get support or information. Hear from Rida, President of your Student's Union to find out how these changes will affect you.

"Hi everyone! I’m Rida, President of your Students’ Union, and I wanted to let you know about some changes to the way you can access support and get your questions answered.

As of the start of May, your local School administration offices will be closing and, to improve the service you receive, the University is opening three new Student Information Hubs, called “Ask Herts Hubs”.

What does this mean for you?

This means that no matter your question you can simply head straight to one of these Ask Herts Hubs to answer any of your questions. Consider them to be a Google for University – loads of useful resources to help support you!

Why are these Hubs being introduced?

Being a student, it can be hard and frustrating to navigate through different University departments to get your issues resolved:

- Need to submit a SAC form?
- Need information on tuition fees?
- Can’t figure out what happens with your visa?

Now all you have to do is visit ask.herts.ac.uk, email ask@herts.ac.uk or drop in to one of the Ask Herts Hubs. They’re there to make your life a lot easier and save you plenty of time and energy!

No matter what School you study with, you will receive a consistent service by using an Ask Herts Hub, which will provide all students a similar user experience.

What’s the benefit to you?

With Ask Herts online you’ve got a 24/7 resource to get your questions answered, and now these new Hubs are a face-to-face extension of that service.

The teams in the Ask Herts Hubs will aim to resolve as many of your queries as possible on the spot. And if you’ve got a slightly more complex query and need specialist advice or support then the team will be able to put you in touch with the person who can resolve it for you.

The good news is that no matter where or what you study, you’ll be able to drop into any of the Ask Herts Hubs for advice, guidance and access to support services, so it will be even easier to get your questions answered!

More information about these Hubs will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for all the details!"
