I have become a Finalist!: Vice Chancellors Awards 2020

Grace Lees-Maffei, Professor of Design History at Herts, who has recently been named a VCA finalist, has written a blog piece, talking about her experience of being nominated for a Vice-Chancellor’s award and becoming a finalist!

“I was really pleased to hear that I’d been nominated and better still shortlisted. I didn’t realise that the Living the Values award is so prestigious, nor that being shortlisted is the last step before actually winning!”

Grace was nominated for the ‘Living the Vales’ award. This award celebrates an individual for their commitment to living by the University values of being Friendly, Ambitious, Collegiate, Enterprising and Student-focused. Grace has now been notified that she has become a finalist for this category which is amazing!

“Grace truly embodies the FACES values. As the Programme Director for the Professional Doctorate in Heritage, and Professor of Design History, Grace goes above and beyond for her colleagues and students in the good times and the bad, offering sage advice and a level head.”

Congratulations Grace! We are very proud to have you as a member of our Herts community!
