Six ways to stay active over Christmas
Christmas and exercise aren’t usually two words you see in the same sentence. At this time of we tend to want to cosy up on the sofa, have a mince pie and watch a movie. it’s important that even during the festive period we still find time to exercise and get active! We’ve put together a list of the top six ways you can stay active over Christmas and still have fun!
Go for a wintery walk
Christmas time is perfect for long walks. Even though there are still COVID restrictions in place, try and get outside with a friend or family member and enjoy the fresh wintery weather. There is so much natural beauty at this time of year, so be sure to go somewhere scenic and take lots of photos!
Go for an energising run
It can be difficult to motivate yourself during the winter but there really is no better feeling than going for a run in the crisp winter air. If you can go for a jog once or twice a week, it’ll really help keep your body and mind energised.
Work out to work off those mince pies
We all eat too much at Christmas – that’s part of the fun. But if you want to burn off those extra calories, try and maintain a strict workout plan. It doesn’t have to be anything that intense but working out every day is . If you don’t have a regular workout plan, why not try something like this?
Get outside and go for a bike ride
Bike rides are a great way to get outside, stay active and see friends and family in a safe and distanced way. If you’re looking for something different to your usual workout routine, why not get the bike out and go for a long bike ride? It’s great fun and makes for an intensive workout.
Christmas is a time of joy and celebration and what better way is there to stay active than dance to your favourite Christmas songs. If you want to get in an extra little workout, why not challenge yourself to dance to a whole song? Even though we won’t be able to have our usual big Christmas get-togethers this year, we can the party going with our nearest and dearest.
