Christmas is calling which means there are a lot of exciting things going on nearby. From ice rinks to festive brunches, there are lots of events happening in and around Hertfordshire this December that you will not want to miss. We have picked out some of the top things to do this Christmas. So, whether you’re staying on campus for the holidays or you live nearby and want to get in the festive spirit these are the places you’ll be wanting to visit.
With the UK’s largest open-air ice rink and a Magical Ice Kingdom, you’ll be feeling festive in no time. The Barvarian village is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat, or even just a glass of mulled wine which you can enjoy whilst listening to the live bands.
This year the university are doing a trip to Winter Wonderland for only £10! This will be a great opportunity to visit one of London’s most popular Christmas destinations and will also be a chance for you to get to know some more people at the university.

Café Rouge – The Snowman Afternoon Tea
This year Café Rouge have introduced a Snowman afternoon tea to get you feeling festive. Featuring snowman inspired treats and all your festive favourites, including pigs in blankets, this afternoon tea looks incredible!

The Pudding Stop, St Albans
Offering a range of sweet treats for you this Christmas is the Pudding Stop in St Albans. If you don’t fancy eating in, why not grab a Christmas Pudding to take away! Check out what other desserts they have here.
On Sundays they also show a free film at 20:00, no need to book just grab a seat.
The Snowman - Watford Colosseum
This year The Snowman will be playing in the Watford Colosseum and if that’s not a good enough reason to go already, the film will be accompanied by an Orchestra (Orpheus Sinfonia).

Hogwarts in the Snow
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, ‘The Making of Harry Potter’ Studios is just a 15-minute drive away! Experience Hogwarts in the Snow this Christmas, as well as the magnificent Great Hall, which will be lined with Christmas trees and decorations, and learn all about the making of this terrific film.

If you are a lover of the festive season, London’s Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park is a place you must visit this Christmas.
