As there’s not a great deal to do right now except put on your comfies, grab some snacks and chill in front of the telly, we’ve put together a quick list of the best things to stream on Netflix in January, from critically acclaimed movies to the most talked about new series.

Bridgerton
New period drama set during the Regency era in England, following the romantic exploits of eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family. Full of love, romance, sex and scandal. Maybe not one to watch when the kids are around – or the parents.
The Office (US version)
An absolute classic that never gets old but its new to Netflix this January. Stream all 9 hilarious seasons now!
Cobra Kai
Cobra Kai is the show that everyone is talking about. Starting out as a YouTube hit, this sequel to 80’s classic The Karate Kid sees members of the original cast reuniting 36 years after the events of the original film.
The Queen’s Gambit
Another original series that’s been hugely popular. The Queen’s Gambit is a dark and compelling drama about dysfunctional chess prodigy Beth Harmon. A tough one to describe, but absolutely amazing!
Headspace Guide to Meditation
If you’ve been meaning to try out the Headspace meditation app but haven’t gotten round to it yet, Netflix have now launched an original series that is a great introduction to meditation. A great little show and very useful stress-busting tool.
The Midnight Sky
Science-fiction space drama starring George Clooney following a scientist who is attempting to contact a crew of astronauts to warn them not to return to Earth after an apocalyptic event. Truly brilliant stuff!
The Devil All the Time
Boasting an ensemble A-List cast including Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson, The Devil All the Time is a dark and violent thriller set in the 1930’s American south.
Pieces of a Woman
Brand new drama to Netflix, a woman deals with unspeakable trauma and grief in this stunning awards contender. Amazing performance from Vanesa Kirby which is bound to bring her an Oscar nomination.
The Trial of the Chicago 7
Period courtroom political drama about the ensuing legal turmoil that followed historic protests and shook America in the 1960’s. Brilliant film, with a very timely story and an amazing ensemble cast including Eddie Redmayne and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Prom
If you’re looking something a bit more fun, you can’t go wrong with this all singing, all dancing musical starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden.
