#HertsChristmas: Your Christmas Movie Watchlist By Emma
With it being almost five weeks until Christmas and as I am a huge lover of Christmas (which can be supported by the fact I actually watched my first Christmas film in September), I thought I would share some of my favourite Christmas movies to inspire you on what to watch in the coming weeks!
1. Nativity!
Where to watch: Netflix and BBC
iPlayer
This musical comedy film is about a
primary school teacher in charge of putting on his school's nativity play,
however chaos ensues when he lies about Hollywood producers being interested in
making his play into a film. From start to end, this film never fails to make
me laugh and instantly gets me into the Christmas spirit. Nativity is one of my
go to Christmas films after a long day and I somehow manage to rewatch it at
least three or four times each year.
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Following eight couples over the holidays, Love Actually is my favourite Christmas rom-com. With an a-list cast, including Hugh Grant, Kiera Knightley and Alan Rickman, this film is such a heartfelt classic if you want to feel the love over the Christmas season. You follow the different couples as they experience the ups and downs of romance in the time leading up to Christmas, with each individual love story being intertwined in subtle ways. This film always makes me smile and believe in the power of the Christmas spirit.
3. Home Alone
Where to watch: Disney+, along with the rest of the film series
As arguably the funniest Christmas
film, Home Alone follows 8 year old Kevin as he is quite literally left home
alone for the holidays when his family accidentally leaves him behind while
they go on holiday to France. Although he initially loves the freedom, he
quickly has to jump into action when burglars try to break into his home. I
remember watching this film as a kid, so rewatching this film over the holidays
gives me an instant wave on nostalgia and is such a great film if you just want
to sit and laugh while getting into the Christmas mood.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Where to watch: Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video
You've probably heard of the Grinch before, but if you have never watched it before, you need to watch it this Christmas. The film follows the Grinch who lives in the outskirts of Whoville, a town obsessed with Christmas. Cindy, a little girl who lives in Whoville attempts to befriend the Grinch and teaches him to love Christmas. I absolutely adore this film, from the cuteness of little Cindy to being able to relate to the Grinch, I would 100% recommend this film to everyone who's never seen it before.
So now that I've inspired you, all that's left now is to make a hot chocolate, grab a sweet treat and get comfy because it time to binge watch some Christmas movies, have fun!!
